Hey, look what I did to my old sweater that I knitted. I've kept it all these years, probably stopped wearing it after I got divorced and started wearing clothes that actually fit. So I haven't worn it in five or so years, and I'm usually ruthless about getting rid of clothes that I haven't worn in a year even. It seriously took me forever to knit this, though. I did the whole back with all those little medallions on the wrong size needles and it didn't fit the front, people were aghast when I grimly sat down to take it all apart. It's one of my favorite memories.
I really never was going wear it again, it didn't fit and wasn't stylish. Now that I'm thinking, half the reason I stopped wearing this was that it made me look like a couch. Now it is a couch! And no one gets more use out of pillows than I do. I haven't sewn up the bottom edge yet, but I think it's sort of funny like that.
It's also given me an idea about what to do with all my old calico summer dresses that my mom made for me: quilt!
