What I'm Doing On My Summer Break

I'm apparently still on some sort of break. Or I'm having a series of rolling breaks: the week before last, two days off writing; last week, one day off work; this week, one day off skating; and next week is my actual summer break, my trip to LA.

Also last week, actually, I had two more days off writing:

  • one of which I used to organize my closet. Someday I may write about my closet, I love my closet. It used to be in the tiny room under the stairs that could be a tiny den or a huge closet & that is now pit crew's tiny den, and now my closet is all in the space at the foot of my bedroom.
  • and the other of which we watched True Blood, and that was all right.
But then I did, actually, get to SIT DOWN TO WRITE Sunday afternoon, because Derby Lite didn't have Sunday practice this weekend. For the spring session, Derby Lite practices have been smack in the middle of both weekend days & I like practice of course, but sort of haven't had weekends this session. Not the kind of weekend where you go to Lovely, a bake shop, and have a turkey sandwich and an iced coffee and read your books and write in your notebook all afternoon.

So I'm excited, I get those Saturday afternoons all summer session:

I guess what I am is between schedules, probably won't get into the full swing of this new schedule until I'm back from LA.

I'm still crossing things off my to do list, I'm halfway done with getting new contact lenses and getting new wheels for Orbit and for outdoors. I still have to go clothes shopping. It works out that there's no Derby Lite practice on the 16th, so I can pack and spend time with pit crew before I leave—
